XIX Conference of the Brazilian Keynesian Association 2026

The XIX AKB Conference will take place at The Federal University of Sergipe, in Aracaju, Sergipe, from August 31 to September 4, 2026.

We are pleased to announce the 19th Meeting of the Brazilian Keynesian Association (AKB), which will take place from August 31 to September 4, 2026, at the Federal University of Sergipe (UFS), in Aracaju, Brazil. The event brings together faculty members, students, researchers, and professionals from diverse fields interested in discussing contemporary economic challenges and exploring strategies for building more inclusive and sustainable development paths. This year’s theme, “Sustainable Development and Diversity: Strategies for a Just Future,” invites participants to reflect on ways to promote economic growth while reducing inequalities, strengthening institutions, and expanding social opportunities, considering economic, social, environmental, gender, and racial dimensions. The program includes academic paper sessions, keynote lectures and special panels with invited scholars, as well as training activities organized within the AKB School, creating a plural and dynamic space for academic dialogue and exchange. In 2026, the Meeting will also commemorate the 90th anniversary of the publication of The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money by John Maynard Keynes, with activities highlighting the continuing relevance of its contributions for understanding the challenges of economic development in the twenty-first century.
